CampCrate Difficulty Levels

CampCrate’s trail difficulty is measured by considering three separate factors.  Elevation gain is most important, followed by distance, then altitude.  Each has a significant effect on difficulty, requiring a higher rate of physical fitness for each level.  For scale, keep in mind that climbing the Empire State building’s flight of stairs is 1,250 feet of elevation gain.  Details are explained below. . .

M=Miles

Beginner
Elevation Gain: 0 - 1,000 Ft/Day
Distance: 3-6 Miles/Day
Physical Requirement: Can Walk - 5K (3.1M) OR Run - 400 Meters

Intermediate
Elevation Gain: 1,000 - 2,000 Ft/Day
Distance: 5-11 Miles/Day
Physical Requirement: Can Walk - 21K (13M) OR Run - 5K (3.1M)

Expert
Elevation Gain: 2,000 - 3,000+ Ft/Day
Distance: 6-20 Miles/Day
Physical Requirement: Can Walk - 42K (26M) OR Run - 21 (13M)
